The WHHB resistor designed by Danotherm is a medium-power resistor intended for use in high-voltage applications. WHHB resistors are liquid-cooled: only de-ionized water can act as the coolant. Glycol can be added to the de-ionized water as long as the conductivity remains below 2 µS/cm.
WHHB resistors feature an anodized aluminum housing. The resistive elements are nickel-chrome alloy spirals and are directly in contact with the coolant. The coolant inlet/outlet lies at the rear side of the resistor housing.
Power ratings for WHHB resistors range from 6 to 25 kW, and the working voltage is 4.7 kVAC / 6.6 kVDC. The dielectric strength is 20 kVAC.
WHHB low ohm resistors with 50 mm2 connectors can handle a maximum 160 A current, and low ohm resistors with 250 mm2 connectors can hold a maximum 500 A current.
The standard resistance tolerance is ±10%, and ±5% tolerance is available on request. The protection ratings for WHHB are IP65.
Danotherm WHHB resistors mainly serve as filter applications.
